I spend a lot of time immersing myself in the natural world seeing, hearing, and feeling the patterns of plants, animals, wind, earth, and water. I make pressure prints using leaves, needles, and cones from local flora or material cut/carved to mimic these items. Onto this printed work, I incorporate sewing and drawing to indicate patterns (animal tracks, river pathways) and photography of abstracted textures (bark, water, rocks, treelines/skylines). My artwork is evocative of atmosphere, land, and water—connection and movement—without necessarily using representational imagery.
