Mark Weller is a contemporary American visual artist celebrated for his inventive and vibrant lens-based art that transforms conventional photography. His artistic exploration delves into the impact of time, the fourth dimension, and its transformative influence on his subjects. With a rich exhibition history spanning over 175 art museums and galleries across America and internationally, Weller's work has also graced the pages of magazines and books, earning him numerous accolades. His limited-edition prints grace private, corporate, and government collections, showcasing the widespread resonance of his distinctive vision as he reinterprets, and reexamines the intricate complexities of the ever-changing natural world.

Weller was born and educated in Wisconsin, earning his degree from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 1977. His professional journey commenced in Alaska as a documentary filmmaker. By 1980, he relocated to Madison, Wisconsin, assuming the role of senior producer of news and documentaries for PBS Wisconsin. His distinguished tenure yielded award-winning documentaries, including insightful portrayals of United States Senator Gaylord Nelson, the Battleship USS Wisconsin, and the military defense of the inner German border. Weller also produced live broadcasts featuring international luminaries such as His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and US President Bill Clinton.

In a pivotal career shift in 1992, Weller transitioned to the telecommunications sector. Over his 27-year tenure as President and CEO, the company experienced exponential growth and played a crucial role in narrowing the digital divide, connecting rural Wisconsin school districts, libraries, and state agencies through a cutting-edge digital fiber-optic network.

Retiring from the executive suite in 2019, Weller redirected his focus entirely to the realm of lens-based art, embracing a full-time dedication to exploring innovative avenues of artistic expression and creativity. Today, his work stands as a testament to the intersection of artistic vision, technological innovation, and a lifelong commitment to creative exploration.
