When weaving I let the fiber take me on a journey. As a self taught intuitive weaver I like to focus on how texture and color playoff each other. I love playing around with slightly imperfect shapes and wild textures creating organic and imaginative pieces. This piece Sea of Blooms focuses on the soft rolling textures of a flower garden. I love when the garden is in full bloom and all you can see are mounds of flowers flowing into one another. I used tightly woven layers of tabby and rya stitch to created the topography.
